ahh Photography Inspiration...

Wedding Party:
No Bridesmaids, No groomsmen.
The officiant is my cousin Debbie, who was a flower girl in my parent's wedding,
and my mom was a bridesmaid in hers!
My Dad will walk me down the aisle.
And of course there's Jason and I.
LOVE!

There will be trees, and hopefully diffused light underneath the canopy.

No garter throw, no bouquet throw.
(My bouquet would cause injury)
Crossing my fingers to get a classic car...

Yes, I'm overwhelmed.

Maybe it's my nature. Maybe it's my inability to do anything the easy way. Maybe it's my thoughts of grandeur.

Either way, my list of things to do hasn't gotten any shorter. But my timeline has.

Unfortunately, much of it are Big decisions I have to make, or things only I can do. The vision is complete, the execution of the vision is far from it.

For instance:
- Dress#2 (shower and maybe reception) - I need that in less than 2 weeks and haven't tried on the first dress. Although, I've looked at hundreds online.

- The Cake - need to visit the cake place in Auburndale, and basically place the order.
I already know what I want, it's pretty simple. Red Velvet Cheesecake with white Cream Cheese Icing. Nothing decorative. I'm adding branches and the cake topper, which I already have.

- The Flowers - need to determine Where and How many flowers I need. The florist is in Lake Wales.

- The Arbor - it's in pieces at my parents house, parts that are green need to be painted turquoise. Dad's going to put it together.

- The Ceremony Script (vows) - I'm not writing it, but I'm piecing it together like a quilt from different ones I've found online.

- The Decor - I've gotten about 90% of the decor all ready. Gotta get the fabric to hang in the barn, and some typewriter ribbon. Gotta finish spray painting a few items. Plus, make more tissue poms and/or get chinese lanterns.

- Photography plan - I have to sit down and list all the shots I want.

- Honeymoon - decide on what we're doing, and book it. It's going to be the Keys, I think.

Owls!

I purchased all of these vintage owls to use as decoration for the wedding... Birds, Owls, Birdcages and the like.

The brown pair are now ivory... the gold color with ivory flowers is actually a beautiful vase/planter...

I had to have the 1960s psychedelic one, but I've painted over the green, orange and pink parts.
I got all of these from a graphic designer and seller on Etsy!

The Ranch: March 3, 2011

It was a WINDY day at the ranch. We got there around 3:15, (we tried a new way and got a little lost) approximately the time the ceremony will be over. As long as it's on time. :)

The panoramic shots are very large, so click to enlarge.

Location of the ceremony: Under the Old Oak Trees!
Center Tree will be where Debbie, Jason and I stand.
Arbor will be right up against the tree.
Inside the Apartment:

This is the extra bedroom, the master has one King sized bed.

The inside of the BARN.

Attached "Party Barn" area is air conditioned.

The entire building is 100' wide, 50' deep

Picnic tables can be spaced out while people play games.

Drink machine can be stocked with anything we want,
and doesn't take money.

6 doors, but only slide over top of one another.
so only 3 openings, each opening doorway is about 12' wide.

Wedding Readings

I have uncovered so many beautiful passages about love and marriage, that I'd love to include them all in the ceremony, but I'd like to just pick one.

The moment I heard my first love story I began seeking you,
not realizing the search was useless.
Lovers don’t meet somewhere along the way.

They’re in one another’s souls from the beginning.

- Unknown

Love is a temporary madness, it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any fool can do.

Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Those that truly love, have roots that grow towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom have fallen from their branches, they find that they are one tree and not two.
-Capt. Corelli's Mandolin

I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz, or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off. I love you as certain dark things are to be loved, in secret, between the shadow and the soul.

I love you as the plant that never blooms but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers; thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance, risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way than this: Where "I " does not exist, nor nor "You", so close that your hand on my chest is my hand, so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.
-Pablo Neruda
